Peppermint Oreo Cookie Balls

I know, I know…you’re thinking these are too “Christmas-y”, aren’t you? Think I’m a little late posting these? No way. These babies are great year round.

I should have doubled the recipe and stuck some in the freezer, because I could reeeeeeallllly go for a few right about now. Yum.

Don’t feel like using peppermint? Sprinkle pretzel crumbs on top. Or sea salt. Or graham cracker crumbs. Use your imagination!

Peppermint Oreo Cookie Balls
slightly adapted from The Corner Kitchen Blog

36 Oreo cookies (around 3 cups)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
16 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
2 candy canes, crushed

Place cookies in food processor and mix until finely crushed. Place in a bowl, add cream cheese, and mix together.

Shape into 1 inch balls and place on wax paper lined baking sheet. Freeze for 10 minutes or refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Melt chocolate in microwave for approximately 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Dip balls into chocolate and place back on wax paper. Sprinkle crushed candy cane on top. Repeat with all balls.

Refrigerate for one hour. Serve or keep in fridge until ready to serve.

Makes around 48 balls.
