Shamrock Shake

Well, it’s that time of year again, folks, or so I hear…the Shamrock Shake is apparently back at McDonald’s.  St. Patrick’s Day is on its way!

A few years ago, I had an ice cream craving and picked one up to try.  It was good…not great, but good. It was one of those times when I wondered how much better it would taste if I made it myself.

So I brought in my little taste tester.

She couldn’t wait to dig in! I was pretty tempted myself. And after tasting how delicious it was, I was glad I only made about 1 1/4 servings. YUM.

Bella savored every last drop of this. And believe me, so will you. It’s magically delicious 🙂

Shamrock Shake
slightly adapted from The Stir

1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon mint extract
several drops green food coloring (depending on your color preference)

Throw all ingredients in a blender and mix until you reach desired consistency. Serve with whipped cream and sprinkles on top if desired.
