Chocolate Peanut Butter Blossoms

I didn’t think it was possible to find a new way to enjoy the delicious hocolate and peanut butter combination, yet here we are. After receiving my J’Adore VoxBox from Influenster, and finding a nice big bag of Hershey’s Kisses, I couldn’t resist baking these.


There will be another batch of something good coming out of that bag, I guarantee it! Stay tuned 🙂

Chocolate Peanut Butter Blossoms
from Hershey’s Kisses

48 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup AP flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
sugar for rolling

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat shortening and peanut butter together until well blended. Add brown sugar and 1/3 cup sugar and mix until fluffy.

Add egg, milk and vanilla and beat well. Stir together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to peanut butter mixture. Mix well.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar, then place on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set.

Remove from oven and immediately press kisses into centers of the cookies (they will crack a bit). Cool completely on wire racks.
