Fresh Figs with Blue Cheese Mousse

So, is it officially the end of summer now that Labor Day weekend has passed? Some say yes. For us, not really. Bella doesn’t start school until next week, plus the weather is still hot and humid as ever.

We had a great weekend, which included celebrating our daughter’s 5th birthday! Can’t believe she’s going into Kindergarten…time sure is flying.


I made these bite size goodies for a tapas party that my sister threw. Whether your fig tree is overflowing or your market is fully stocked with them, you need to make these! They take just minutes to make and are a huge crowd pleaser.

Fresh Figs with Blue Cheese Mousse

fresh figs, tops cut crosswise
1 (8 ounce) container crumbled blue cheese
1 (8 ounce) block cream cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
black pepper

Combine blue cheese and cream cheese in a bowl. Using a hand mixer, beat until smooth, adding heavy cream a little at a time until consistency is smooth, but not too thin.

Place mousse in piping bag and squeeze on top of each fig. Drizzle with honey and top with pepper.
